Product Introduction
The TX500C spinning-drop interfacial tensiometer offers enhanced ease of operation and superior system stability. Its primary applications include laboratory research and field monitoring for tertiary oil recovery (chemical flooding); studies on surfactants, detergents, emulsions, and foams; research into fuel oils, lubricants, paints, inks, and coatings; and investigations in fields such as pharmaceuticals, paper products, photosensitive materials, and pesticides. Unlike conventional interfacial tension testing, the spinning-drop technique enables the analysis of low interfacial tension—measurements that standard methods like the platinum plate or platinum ring techniques cannot achieve. Generally, interfacial tension in the range of 10⁻² to 10⁻¹ mN/m is classified as "low," while values below 10⁻³ mN/m are termed "ultra-low." Measuring ultra-low interfacial tension requires artificially altering the balance between gravitational forces and the system's interfacial tension; this ensures the droplet assumes a shape closer to the ideal for accurate measurement. This is achieved by rotating the system to introduce a centrifugal force field—the fundamental principle behind spinning-drop ultra-low interfacial tension testing.

Key Features of the TX500C Spinning Drop Interfacial Tensiometer
1. The instrument utilizes a plug-in quartz glass tube sleeve design, making sample tube removal convenient and minimizing the risk of breakage during testing. Samples are loaded before testing and the tube is cleaned after removal, ensuring ease of operation. It employs a stainless-steel inner sleeve and rotor; their matching thermal expansion coefficients facilitate heat conduction, while the corrosion-resistant, rust-proof material ensures a long service life. The material's low deformation coefficient and high concentricity ensure the sample tube remains horizontally stable and minimize vibration during rotation.
2. It features a high-speed brushless motor imported from Switzerland, equipped with a comprehensive servo control system. This ensures a long service life, high control precision, and excellent compatibility. It supports rotational speeds up to 12,000 rpm with a precision of ±5 rpm. The motor encoder offers 500 control points per revolution, resulting in higher accuracy and easier control. The combination of camera and objective lens delivers high measurement precision and multiple magnification levels; it can magnify elongated oil droplets exhibiting ultra-low interfacial tension, thereby significantly enhancing measurement accuracy.
3. It offers a wide measurement range for interfacial tension—spanning nine orders of magnitude from 10⁻⁷ mN/m to 100 mN/m—making it a full-range spinning drop interfacial tensiometer.
4. The imported USB digital CCD outperforms traditional analog CCDs; it eliminates the need for image acquisition cards or specific PCI slots in the host computer. Consequently, various types of computers can be used, enhancing user convenience and operational flexibility.
5. The control software features a standard Windows interface for ease of use, and images are saved in BMP format for storage or printing. The program incorporates a proprietary interfacial tension calculation algorithm developed by technical experts. Processes such as capture speed settings, image saving modes, interfacial tension calculation, and measurement display are automatically controlled by the software, effectively eliminating the impact of human error on measurement results. It records interfacial tension values as they change over time and with variations in rotational speed and temperature; all measurements are stored in a database and can be exported directly to Excel, while real-time graphs of the measurements are also displayed.
6. Precise LED control technology combines strobe and continuous lighting modes. By utilizing the rotational speed trigger mode of a USB digital CCD, the system ensures flicker-free imaging across various rotational speeds. The resulting interface edge imagery is sharper, facilitating the analysis of turbid oilfield samples. The continuous LED light source helps extend the component's service life.
7. The entire testing process is controlled via communication between PC software and an onboard microcontroller. Intelligent AI-based image analysis is used to capture and process images of the rotating droplet, ensuring excellent usability and repeatability. Settings and operations can be managed through the PC software interface or directly via the instrument's control panel.
8. An electronically controlled heating system maintains a constant experimental temperature. The instrument employs precise PID temperature control technology. The heating assembly features a corrosion-resistant stainless steel design with bottom-up heat diffusion, ensuring rapid and uniform heating of the sample tube. The integrated heating module eliminates the need for external temperature control equipment, though the instrument remains compatible with external constant-temperature baths.
9. A low-noise, dual-motor mechanism handles image positioning, while an intuitive LCD touchscreen interface allows for easy operation in both PC-connected and standalone modes. The integrated rotation mechanism allows for horizontal adjustment of the rotating chamber, making it easy to keep the droplet within the viewing window.
