Product Description

Thermal Conductivity Tester (Transient Plane Source Method)  

The LR-DRE-2C thermal conductivity tester employs the transient plane source method (a type of transient hot wire method), primarily used to measure thermal conductivity (i.e., thermal conductance), thermal diffusivity, and specific heat capacity of solids, powders, and anisotropic materials. Based on TPS (transient plane source) technology, this instrument uses a Hot Disk as the probe for thermal conductivity measurement.

 

Advantages of the Hot Disk method include

(1) Direct measurement of heat propagation, significantly saving time;  

(2) No influence from contact thermal resistance, unlike static methods;  

(3) No special sample preparation required—only relatively flat sample surfaces are needed.

 

Main Technical Specifications

1. Measuring range of thermal conductivity: 0.0010–300 W/(m·K), resolution: 0.0001 W/(m·K);  

2. Measurement time: 1–600 seconds;  

3. Measurement accuracy: Better than 5%;  

4. Temperature range: Standard measurement at room temperature. Optional temperature ranges available upon customer request, such as room temperature to 130°C with a constant-temperature chamber, or -30°C to 100°C with a high-low temperature chamber (additional cost applies);  

5. Sample dimensions: Minimum diameter of 45 mm and minimum thickness of 15 mm. Multiple layers can be stacked if single-layer samples are insufficient. Relatively flat surface is required. For powder materials, direct insertion of the probe into the sample is supported;  

6. The operation is convenient and the testing is fast. All you need to do is to place the test probe between the two sample blocks, and by simply clicking on the software, you can obtain the thermal conductivity of the tested sample.
