Product Description

Overview

The LR-TMA-1000 Thermal Mechanical Analyzer is a high-tech instrument that measures the deformation of a substance under non-oscillating loads as a function of temperature, under programmed temperature control. It is a new type of thermomechanical analyzer characterized by miniaturization, intelligence, and modular design, internationally abbreviated as TMA.

It can measure parameters such as the coefficient of thermal expansion, shrinkage rate, melting point, and creep of materials, and is widely used in laboratories of research institutions, universities, and industrial and mining enterprises for testing materials such as metals, ceramics, glass, polymers, and low-molecular-weight organic compounds.

The static thermo-mechanical method involves applying a certain load to a substance and determining the magnitude of its deformation. Initially, the penetration method was used, where a needle-like indenter touches the sample and a load is applied. As the temperature rises to a certain point, the needle-like indenter moves rapidly; this temperature is taken as the softening temperature of the sample.

By applying a couple to the extension direction of a rod, film, or filament sample to cause rotation, the change in modulus due to temperature changes can be measured.

The tensile method can also be used to determine the softening temperature or thermal shrinkage parameters of materials such as films and fibers. Therefore, any measurement method can be selected depending on the application conditions.

Static thermomechanical analysis is generally used for material dimensional stability, and can also be used to measure the glass transition temperature of polymers such as plastics and rubber.

Sample Requirements
