The FL6000 Flammability Tester was developed in accordance with standards such as ASTM E681, GB/T 21844, and ASHRAE 34. It is primarily designed to determine the flammability limits of combustible gases and liquid vapors in air. Applications span coal mine gas detection, municipal gas safety assessment, safety analysis of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, process safety monitoring in the chemical industry, and inspection and quarantine. The device meets the needs of research institutes conducting explosion characteristic studies while providing essential test data to support industrial safety management.
The equipment employs a flame propagation angle method for testing. Inside a sealed spherical glass flask, a test gas mixture is prepared using the partial pressure method (with a mixing accuracy of 0.05%) and homogenized via magnetic stirring before ignition. A camera system captures flame propagation to determine whether an explosion has occurred. By incrementally adjusting the concentration of the medium, the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) and Upper Explosive Limit (UEL) can be determined across a temperature range from room temperature to 200°C.
The device comes standard with a 12-liter spherical glass flask (a 5-liter option is available) and features a transparent explosion-proof viewing window and a camera system. This setup allows for the complete recording of the test process, providing visual evidence for analyzing experimental phenomena and explosion determination. Additionally, the system is equipped with an automatic pressure relief device, remote ignition, a door interlock mechanism, and multi-layer explosion-proof structural components.
The FL6000 supports automated testing; after operators configure basic parameters via the control software, the entire test sequence—including vacuuming, temperature control, gas mixing, stirring, and ignition—can be executed with a single click.
