I. Scope of Application The fabric coolness performance tester is used to evaluate the cool/warm sensation perceived by the human brain when fabric comes into contact with human skin. Upon initial contact with the skin, due to temperature differences, heat exchange occurs between the fabric and the skin, causing the skin temperature to rise or fall. The primary form of heat exchange between the fabric and the skin is thermal conduction, while internal thermal radiation and natural convection within the fabric are negligible. Under normal conditions (except when the ambient temperature is higher than the skin temperature), the skin temperature is higher than the ambient temperature, so contact with fabric generally causes a decrease in skin temperature. This tester is suitable for measuring the coolness sensation of pajamas, bedding, fabrics, and underwear.
