The Dust Combustibility Tester is designed to determine the explosion characteristics of combustible dust under specified operating conditions, providing experimental data for industrial safety design and risk management. The FL5000 Combustibility Tester is specialized equipment designed to characterize dust explosion properties. It measures explosion-related parameters for single or mixed combustible gases, combustible dusts, and gas-dust mixtures under varying temperature and pressure conditions. Suitable for industries such as flour processing, metal powder production, plastic polymer manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and coal/ore processing, the device provides technical data to support the selection of dust handling equipment and process safety assessments.
The system features a 20L spherical vessel design, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 200°C and pressures up to 2 MPa (customizable). It is equipped with a spherical pressure vessel, a pressure relief assembly, and an explosion-proof structure with remote ignition capabilities. The device includes a dust dispersion system and a controllable dust injection unit to facilitate the generation of dust clouds within the chamber. High-frequency response pressure sensors capture instantaneous explosion pressures, simultaneously generating explosion pressure curves and storing test data.
The FL5000 offers two ignition modes—high-energy electrostatic ignition and chemical ignition—which can be switched based on testing requirements. The accompanying software automates the entire process—including dust injection, dispersion, ignition, pressure data acquisition, and analysis—to determine parameters such as the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL), explosion pressure, and rate of pressure rise. It also enables dust explosibility screening tests under various operating conditions.
