Product Introduction

The LR-C502 Scott Capacity Counting Method Bulk Density Tester for Metal Powders is an instrument used to measure the bulk density and loose density of powders. It is designed and manufactured in accordance with the national standard GB5060-85 "Method for Measuring the Loose Density of Metal Powders - Part 2: Scott Capacity Counting Method", and also complies with the international standard ISO 3932/2 "Determination of Loose Density of Metal Powders - Part 2: Scott Capacity Counting Method". This instrument is suitable for powders that cannot freely pass through the 5mm aperture funnel in the funnel method and powders that are easily changed in properties when using the vibrating funnel method.

 

Principle

The Scott volumetric cylinder consists of a combined funnel. The funnel is divided into two parts, with a 1.18-millimeter diameter stainless steel sieve screen placed in the middle. The powder sample is placed on the sieve screen, and it will flow downward due to the weight of the powder. Powders with poor mobility need to be assisted by tools such as brushes to use external force to make the powder flow into the fabric box. The fabric box has four downward-tilted stainless steel plates, with an inclination angle of 25 degrees and they are interlaced. Finally, it is introduced into the square funnel. The powder eventually flows into the measuring cup. Due to the four interlaced stainless steel plates at an angle of 25 degrees, the process of the powder flowing into the measuring cup also presents an interlaced flow. Therefore, the powder in the measuring cup is in a loose state. The mass of the powder inside the measuring cup is measured to calculate the bulk density.

 

Instrument structure

1. Upper and lower combined funnel: It is composed of two 304 stainless steel funnels. The upper opening diameter is 112mm, the lower opening diameter is 30mm, and the middle mesh is a 1.18mm stainless steel screen.

2. Dressing box: It is composed of a frame. The frame has slots, and four stainless steel plates are embedded in these four slots. The stainless steel plates can be pulled out, making cleaning easy.

3. Square funnel: It is welded from 304 stainless steel. The lower inclination angle is 60 degrees, and the lower outlet is 12.5mm x 12.5mm.

4. Density measuring cup: It is made of 304 stainless steel and has a volume of 25ml.

5. Base: It is used to support the upper and lower combined funnel, dressing box, square funnel, density measuring cup and other components.
