Product Introduction
The Saybolt colorimeter for petroleum products is used to determine refined liquid oils, such as uncolored automotive gasoline, aviation gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha, kerosene, and medicinal white oil. The Saybolt color refers to: when observing and comparing through the liquid column of the sample and the standard color plate, the height value of the liquid column that is closest to one of the three standard color plates is measured. The Saybolt color number is specified as: -16 (the darkest) to +30 (the lightest). The Saybolt Color Test (Saybolt Color) is used for quality control and product identification of refined products with an ASTM color of 0.5 or lower.
The determination of the color of petroleum products is mainly used in the control process of oil production. Because color is an important quality characteristic of oil products and is also a feature that product users can easily observe. In some cases, color can reflect the refining degree of the product. For oil products with known color ranges, if their color exceeds this range, it may indicate that they have been contaminated.
It can be widely applied in sectors such as power, petroleum, chemical industry, universities, commodity inspection, and scientific research.
