BGD 538 ISO 23169 On-site Wet Scrub Resistance Tester Test Machine Washability Device
1.Description:
A typical interior wall coating system is usually composed of a thick layer of putty, one primer and two topcoats. Therefore, the final quality of the interior wall coating depends on the entire coating system composed of putty, primer and topcoat. In addition, it is also related to the quality of the construction conditions, such as the thickness of the paint film and the dilution ratio of paint to water, which have a significant impact on the quality of the final coating system.
Previously, on-site tests for evaluating the performance of interior wall coating systems mainly relied on methods such as visual inspection, fingernail scratching and touch for discrimination. These methods are highly subjective because even for the same wall coating system, the results may vary from person to person and cannot be replicated. The new standard ISO 23169-2020 "Paints and varnishes - On-site Test Methods for Quality Assessment of Interior Wall Coatings" stipulates a standard test method for on-site assessment of wall coatings, scientifically distinguishing high-quality from low-quality interior wall coatings by testing their "on-site cleanability (stain removal)" and "on-site wet scrub resistance".
On-site cleanability (stain removal) test principle: Apply standard stains to the interior wall coating and let it dry for 10 minutes. Then, conduct the cleanability test using the specified testing instrument (wet scrubbing tester). Measure the tristimulus values of the coating before and after the test.
The principle of on-site wet scrub resistance test: After the coating is applied, it should be cured at room temperature for at least 7 days. Then, the coating should be moistened with a wet towel, and the wet coating should be wiped with an instrument wrapped in a black cloth. The powdering or color difference should be measured to evaluate its on-site wet scrub resistance performance.
The BGD 538 On-site Wet Scrub Resistance Tester is designed in accordance with the ISO 23169-2020 standard. It has a simple structure and is easy to operate. It can not only be used to evaluate the "on-site cleanability (stain removal) test" of the coating, but also for its "on-site wet scrubbing resistance test".
