Precautions for the Fully Automatic Multi-functional Oscillator

The key points to note when using a fully automatic multi-functional oscillator are: read the manual first, install it horizontally, balance the samples and avoid overloading, set parameters and monitor operation properly, clean and maintain it in a timely manner, and handle abnormalities safely. At the same time, strictly follow the electrical and environmental safety requirements. The detailed explanations are as follows:

I. Installation and Environmental Safety

l Place it on a level and solid workbench, avoiding tilting or shaking. Leave space for heat dissipation and keep it away from heat sources and vibration sources.

l The environment should be dry and well-ventilated (relative humidity ≤ 80%), free of corrosive gases and dust, and avoid direct sunlight.

l The power supply should match the rated voltage of the instrument (such as 220V/50Hz), have reliable grounding, and not be on the same circuit as high-power equipment to prevent voltage fluctuations.

l Avoid hard impacts or sharp scratches on the display screen to prevent damage to the touch or display functions.

II. Sample Loading and Balancing

l The sample container should be sealed to prevent leakage and corrosion of the instrument. Securely fix the container with a dedicated fixture according to the type of container that matches the fixture.

l The total load should not exceed the rated value of the instrument (e.g. 5–10kg). The samples should be symmetrically distributed and evenly weighted on the platform to avoid uneven loading which may cause severe vibration or mechanical damage.

l The loading volume of liquid samples should not exceed two-thirds of the container capacity to prevent spillage during oscillation. Special containers (such as syringes) should be fixed at the required angle (e.g., 15° tilt).

l When the temperature control function is available, preheat / precool to the target temperature first. Wait until the temperature is stable before starting the oscillation.

III. Parameter Settings and Operation Procedures

l Strictly set parameters such as temperature, oscillation frequency, amplitude and time in accordance with the experimental standards (such as GB/T 17623, DL/T 429.4), without exceeding the design range of the instrument.

l Before starting, check the parameters and fixture fixation, and close the cabin door / upper cover. During operation, monitor the temperature, speed, noise and vibration in real time. If abnormal sounds, over-temperature, severe shaking or other anomalies are detected, immediately press the emergency stop or stop button, cut off the power and conduct an inspection.

l Do not open the cover or touch the moving parts while in operation to prevent injury. If you need to adjust the parameters during operation, stop the oscillation first to avoid program disorder.

IV. Operation and Maintenance after Use and Cleaning

l After the experiment is completed, first stop the oscillation and wait for the platform to come to a complete stop. Then, cut off the power supply, remove the sample and clean up any spilled liquid.

l Wipe the platform, fixtures and the outer shell with a lint-free cloth. Use neutral detergent if necessary. Never rinse or spray electrical components with water.

l Regular maintenance: Calibrate the temperature sensors (such as PT100) monthly to ensure the accuracy of temperature control.

l Lubricate the transmission mechanism (such as with #3 lithium-based grease) and check the tightness of screws and connecting parts every quarter.

l Replace the shock-absorbing components annually. Replace them promptly when the amplitude deviation exceeds ±0.5mm.

l When not in use for a long time, unplug the power supply, clean it and cover it with a dust cover, then store it in a dry environment.

V. Exception Handling and Safety Regulations

l If you encounter sparks, a burnt smell, smoke or leakage of electricity, immediately cut off the power supply and contact professional maintenance. Do not disassemble it by yourself under any circumstances.

l Mechanical faults (such as jamming, abnormal amplitude): After power-off, inspect the fixture, sample balance and transmission components, remove foreign objects or tighten loose parts. If necessary, return to the factory for maintenance.

l Temperature out of control: Check the sensor, heating/cooling module and fan, and calibrate or replace the faulty components.

l Operators and maintenance personnel must be trained before taking up their posts, strictly abide by laboratory safety regulations, and take good personal protective measures.
