Introduction
This instrument measures the static friction coefficient between the test piece and the ground based on the principle of horizontal and vertical component forces. This testing instrument is portable and can be used on various types of dry, wet or contaminated surfaces to test the anti-slip properties of the sole and heel materials of shoes. This instrument can only conduct tests on sole specimens alone and can perform dry, wet and oil-based tests.
Attach the cut sample to the specimen holder of the portable MARK-II anti-slip testing machine. Place the weights on the rotating support frame of the specimen holder to apply a fixed force to the test specimen, pressing it onto the floor surface. By tilting the rotating support frame of the portable MARK-II anti-slip testing machine, gradually increase the horizontal thrust exerted on the test specimen until the test specimen starts to slip instantaneously. The friction coefficient value that the shoe sole test specimen should have before slipping is the static friction coefficient of the shoe sole on the floor surface, which is the anti-slip coefficient.
